Lifestyle Portrait Photography by Michael Der
Lifestyle Portrait Photography Portfolio
I specialize in active lifestyle portrait photography for small business owners, athletes, and artists, serving California and beyond. My goal is to create authentic, professional images that elevate your brand and showcase the personality behind it. From creative headshots to behind-the-scenes brand storytelling, I photograph natural moments that connect with your audience and capture your athletes in motion. Each session is tailored to highlight your unique story, whether you’re an entrepreneur, performer, or athlete, helping you stand out in a crowded market. Whether for websites, social media, or marketing materials, my photography brings your brand and passion to life with confidence and style.

Commercial rights allow your images to be used in any way that directly promotes a product, service, or brand. This includes advertising campaigns, websites, social media ads, product packaging, brochures, billboards, and other marketing materials. Essentially, if the photos are being used to sell or endorse something, they fall under commercial use. Because of the wide reach and business value these images bring, commercial rights typically come with higher licensing fees.
Stylistically, more storyboarded, posed, and professionally lit.

Editorial or personal photography rights are limited in their usage. They allow your images to be used in contexts that are informational or journalistic rather than promotional. This includes magazines, newspapers, blogs, news articles, or educational content. Editorial use is about telling a story, reporting on an event, or illustrating an article—not directly selling a product or service.
